About Prof. Ani I. Cosmas (Ph.D)
Professor, Ani Cosmas Ikechukwu is a professor of Electronic Engineering, at the department of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
He began work at the department after the completion of his M.sc degree programme in automated telecommunication from the former soviet union in 1986.
His interested research areas Telecommunications Networks Performance management and resource management.
He is an Associate member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (AMISE), Member of Nigeria Society of Engineers (MNSE) and The Engineering Council Register (United Kingdom).
Prof. Ani Cosmas is the author/coauthor of several books including: “Electrical Transmission Media & Antenna’s”, FIAC press Enugu, Nigeria, 2010. And “Beginners Choice for Learning Programming (C++ and Java)”, St. CIKO publishers, 2010.
He has held several leadership positions in the department of Electronic Engineering and faculty of Engineering including the Head of Department, Electronic Engineering and the Associate Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering.
Academic Qualifications
Ph.D. Degree (1992 -1995)
Attended the University of Wales, Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom between 1992 and 1995.
Obtained Ph.D degree in Communication Networks.
M.Phil Degree (1989 – 1990)
Attended Sussex University, England, United Kingdom between 1989 and 1990. Obtained
Master of Philosophy degree in Computer Communication and Network.
M.Sc. Degree (1980 – 1985)
Attended Moscow Telecommunication Institute in former Soviet Union between 1980 and 1985. Obtained Master of Science degree in Automated Telecommunication with Distinction.
Dip. Aeronautical (1976-1978)
Attended Nigeria Civil Aviation Training School, Zaria between 1976 and 1978. Obtained a
diploma in Aeronautical Electronics and Telecommunication (AET).
West African School Certificate (1971 – 1975)
Attended Abor High School Abor, Udi LGA, Enugu State between 1971 and 1975. Obtained
O’ Level School Certificate.

Work Experience
After Civil Aviation Programme
Worked in the Ministry of Civil Aviation in 1979 as maintenance officer at the Ilorin Airport. Equipment maintained covered the range of equipment classed under instrument landing systems (ILS). During the period, I headed Aeronautic Navigation Instrument Installation Team that installed the Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) at Ajaokuta air-strip.
After M.Sc. Degree Programme (1986 – till present)
I Work as Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria.
My jobs as Lecturer entail Teaching and Research. The teaching aspect covers both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses delivery and laboratories; final year and postgraduate
student project supervisions are included.
Consultancy
- I have equally acted, severally, as consultant to Nigeria Communication Commission
(Abuja) on capacity building. - I have acted, severally, in the capacity of consultant to Shell Petroleum Development
Company (SPDC) Ejeba, Warri on Telecommunication Corporate Training under Bit
Streams Company Ltd. - I acted in several occasions as consultant to Digital Bridge Institute, Utako, Abuja on
Telecommunication Corporate Training.
